Lexington, OH. – After an impressive opening weekend at Road America that set the bar high for the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, championship leading team Turn 3 Motorsport is ready for this week’s triple header event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The team topped the time sheets at last month’s official series test at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course with Danial Frost, giving the group confidence going into the next two events which will take place at the midwestern circuit.

In the season premiere, driver of the #68 DEN-JET car Danial Frost made his intentions known when he charged his way from last to first in one of the most exciting drives the Road to Indy has seen. Frost went on to take home another podium finish in Race 2, placing him in the lead of the driver’s championship going into this week’s threefold program.

“I am really looking forward to going into the second round of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship being the points leader,” said Frost. “This advantage gives me more confidence in myself and the team to deliver a strong performance at Mid-Ohio this week. We had really good pace at this track during the official series test last month and ended the day with the fastest time, so I’m expecting to have the same outcome for the races this week.”

For teammate Antoine Comeau, the opening rounds at Road America laid down solid groundwork for his 2020 campaign. The 2019 Radical Cup North America Champion completed every lap of both races and left the weekend lying eighth in the points, but the rookie is now hungry to place his #3 ACR/Eastern Racing car on the podium at Mid-Ohio.

“I am excited for round two of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship at Mid-Ohio this week,” said Comeau. “We had good results during the series test here last month and made some improvements during round one at Road America which has been really motivating. I’m looking to keep that same momentum going for the races at Mid-Ohio this week and hopefully get my first podium finish in this series.”

In addition to leading the driver’s championship with Frost, Turn 3 Motorsport is lying second in the team standings after strong results from both drivers in the first two races.

“Coming away from Road America where we had a strong weekend, we are very excited and confident heading into round two at Mid-Ohio,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “We have put a huge amount of effort into both cars and basically rebuilt them since round one a couple of weeks ago, so I know the preparation we’ve done is to the highest level we are capable of doing. I’m looking forward to getting the group of guys back together so we can gain some more experience working together. We are a new team in the series, but we have a lot of racing experience among us all, so now it’s just about continuing to grow those relationships within the team that will make us stronger for the future.”

With just two days of on track activity for the Indy Pro 2000 Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio Presented by Cooper Tires Honoring First Responders, festivities tomorrow and Thursday will leave little down time between sessions, meaning teams and drivers will be especially focused on the task at hand.

Sessions begin tomorrow with official practice at 11:15am, followed by qualifying at 2:15pm and Race 1 at 5:30pm. Thursday’s events include a second qualifying session at 8:45am with Race 2 starting at 12:30pm and Race 3 at 4:15pm (all times in EST).
